Hi,

I'm using PP Search on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Adobe Reader X and getting an unable to write message when it tries to save the options to the ppsearch.prf file.

My account has full administrator level access to the system and I can create and delete the file manually.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Craig

Craig,

I believe you need to make sure Acrobat is running as administrator. Right-click on the Acrobat executable, and choose "Run as Administrator". Then try using Search again. Does that works?

Hi Raphaël

Thanks for the quick response.
The system is standalone and not in a domain.
I'm logged on with an account in the Local Administrators group and I tried the 'Run as' option and it hasn't made any difference.

I'm able to edit the file using Notepad so I'm puzzled whyy the PPSearch program is having trouble.

thanks,
Craig

I've not been able to reproduce the issue using Adobe Reader 9.4 so it looks like an issue with Reader X.

Anyone else have the same issue?

Craig,

PlanetPress currently supports Acrobat 9. Support for version X could (and should) be part of the next software update (7.3), but I don't have much more information at this moment.

Hope this helps!

Ben
