Hi everyone

As advertised here:
http://kmbs.konicaminolta.us/wps/wcm/con...e7-5993f679d43f
PlanetPress comes in 3 possible modules: production, office and watch.

A customer of ours is interested in the PlanetPress Watch option, but we don't know if his current device is properly licensed and supported by PlanetPress Watch since it's described as:
"Can output to licensed PostScript®
devices only, driving printer centric
devices for distributed applications."

Does this refer to a license granted by OL?
Is there a list of devices which are licensed? (could be useful for future similar scenario's)

The customer's machine is a Konica Minolta BH 4700P, we know it supports postscript level 3, but we are unsure about this license...

Thanks in advance for your help & replies!

Hi Bartc,

The way the Watch license works is that a code will be generated for your specific model of printer, and it will allow you to print to it without restrictions. We can grant you a Watch license for any printers that supports PostScript, so your printer should work just fine.

The "Can output to licensed PostScript® devices only" is more to compare it with the other two licenses, which offers a bit more freedom in terms of what printers you can print to. The Office license allows you to print to any printers by using a Windows printer driver, even some non-postscript printers. (while still allowing you to obtain a printer license if you need standard postscript printing) The Production has all benefits of the Office version + the ability to do standard postscript on ANY postscript printer, so it's only limitation is that you still need a printer license if you need to have a printer-resident document.

I hope this clarifies things a bit. If not, don't hesitate to contact our Activations department at activations@ca.objectiflune.com if you need more information about licensing.

Regards,
Raphaël Lalonde Lefebvre
